Local Stakeholder Workshops

The first series of Smartfusion Stakeholder Workshops will take place in October and November

Each city-region will, with the mutual support of all stakeholders, demonstrate innovations that are tailored to their unique socio-economic, cultural and geographical environment, whilst at the same time carrying out a standardised monitoring and evaluation programme. In more detail:

  • Berlin, Germany on 22th & 23rd November. During the course of the project Berlin will demonstrate integrated technology solutions linking emission threshold information along delivery corridors from the urban interurban transhipment center Grossbeeren to the inner city with the propulsion steering of 2nd generation hybrid trucks and shipment planning optimisation approaches.

  • Como, Italy on 8th & 9th October. During the course of the project Como will demonstrate a remote monitoring system for full electric vehicles enabling a dynamic mission management integrating energy forecasting procedures and algorithms for urban interurban shipment planning.
  • Newcsastle, United Kingdom on 13th November. During the course of the project Newcastle will demonstrate collaborative approaches for urban interurban shipment planning and execution among shippers, logistics service providers and municipality implementing last mile services using electric trucks.

Evaluation of the outcomes of these demonstrations, together with analysis of the critical factors in the increased market uptake of these innovations will be combined in a tool (named the Smart Urban Freight Designer) that will allow other urban policy makers, users and operators to consider the potential applicability of these solutions in their cityregions and supply chains.

During the course of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge of urban freight transport. These workshops are the start of a two-phase assessment allowing stakeholders to share knowledge and resources for cleaner, more efficient goods movement.

More information will become available shortly, in the mean time if you would like to know more about any of the workshops please contact the project This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
